This show is worthy of a fourth season in many ways! I took time to appreciate the first season, however the second season was warmly welcome. In retrospect S2 was sometimes campy or complicated yet I still followed it and loved it (maybe more than the first). The set-up for S3 started great with newer angles such as Ellen's new job and figuring how she and Patty would work together again, and the bold move to feature a family as the season's antagonists rather than a single corrupt businessman.

Now the third season is said and done it comes almost full circle with its nods to S1 such as finishing Frobisher's arc, learning more from Patty's miscarriage, and the foreknowledge of Tom's death which mirrored David's back in S1.

Note it's ALMOST full circle as there is still mileage to this show should the powers that be renew it. The S3 finale undoubtedly had its high points but, as mentioned, it had its lows such as the plot holes and inconsistencies as well as that 'fatal swirly' that does injustice to the memory of Tom's character. Are you really going to rewatch the show and not picture his head in that toilet? Was it amusing? Yes. It's as spontaneous as the S2 urinal beating incident but was it fitting for Tom's swansong? No. Perhaps one of the Tobins could have ended that way (I mean where did the sister, Carole, disappear to?)

To appease the fans an S4 could very neatly wrap up the inconsistencies of the S3 finale very quickly and answer some other ground areas the die-hard fans might want to know. What's next for Patty and Ellen after than frustratingly open-ended final scene? What's next for Patty and Michael's turbulent relationship? Will Ellen set up her own law firm as suggested she would with Tom? And who could possibly step up to fill Tom's boots?

There are many storyline possibilities and the show can move on. Each season the show introduces a range of fresh characters as well as bringing back old favourites. If we're to move on from S3 we can have fleeting visits from Katie Connor, Phil Grey or Hollis Nye. Wasn't Claire Maddox a worthy adversary to Patty? Wouldn't Alex feel bitter aboout Patty and Ellen? Wouldn't you like to see Patty visit Daniel Purcell in similar fashion to Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lecter?

True the ratings were on a decline but the show was award-winning and truly unique. If FX or another network picks it up there must be punchy ways to grab in more viewers. Publicty sells. Sign up a big name. Have a drastic change. Bring back old faves. Damaged goods? Not yet. Give it one more chance.

They don't have to be dark and I'm against darkness for darkness's sake. By making his alcoholism an underlying factor, it gives the character an extra layer to work on. I'm all for superhero films being fun -- but I don't think fun and pathos are mutually exclusive concepts. I've seen the two combined enough times in the past to know that's not the case.

Came in to say Clem but also want to add D'hoffryn, Anya's vengeance demon boss. He was a badass, but also funny. Would totally put Andrew above Jonathan as well.

So to be good they have to have pathos or be "dark"? Why can't super hero movies just be fun? About the joy of using your extraordinary abilities to help people/the world? What would hyping up Iron Man's alcholism really add to the movie?

All great picks, but what about all the parts that Camden Toy played in Buffy and Angel, One of The Gentlemen, Turok-han, Prince of Lies and can't remember the other one, that thing that could paralyze with a scratch and got Willow. And of course Clem and his kitten poker.
